Among many instruments in the maintenance, an astonishing 30% of instruments in typical processing plants need to be corrected. This is a quarter meter. Vibration is one of the most common causes of instrument pressure gauge failure in production facilities, which will bring a series of threats.
It may be difficult for beginners to simply read the instruments installed on vibrating equipment. The vibration will also cause the pointer mechanism of the instrument to "deviate from zero" - making the reading inaccurate. If you do not address the risk of vibration in the production line, your instrument will wear out prematurely. In turn, this will lead to endless and expensive replacement cycles, and these instruments are often also not suitable for high vibration environments.


Hazard of vibration
Compared with the huge equipment, the instrument seems to be a small problem. However, instrumentation is one of the small details. If you do not pay proper attention, you may not have the information needed to solve the problem before it becomes a bigger problem. There are many different types, designs and quality levels of instruments, so the most important consideration when selecting instruments is to match them with their applications. In fact, installing a quality instrument suitable for its setting is the best way to ensure accuracy and long life. This can also reduce inventory and maintenance costs, which may increase when poor quality and mismatched instruments are considered low-cost solutions.

Three anti vibration designs
The instrument manufacturer uses three main methods to protect the instrument from vibration:
● Filled with liquid. The fluid in the instrument protects its internal components and eliminates the effect of vibration on the instrument readings. Some instruments filled with liquid are permanently sealed, while others can be filled on site. Glycerin and silicone are usually used, but other fillers may be used depending on the application.
● Remote installation. This design is not to install the instrument on vibrating equipment, but on a nearby fixed structure, and collect readings through capillary tubes.
● Direct drive. Direct drive instruments consist of only one moving part and have excellent resistance to vibration, pulsation and shock (another advantage: they can withstand extreme temperatures). No gear, connecting rod or spring is worn or broken, and no recalibration is required. Direct drive instruments provide extremely long service life.
