Oil temperature sensor description

The oil temperature sensor introduces the temperature of the engine oil in the vehicle and display the measurement value to the vehicle occupant. If the vehicle is running at a high temperature, the engine may be damaged. If the engine is too high due to the overheating engine, OTS allows operators to stop the vehicle and turn off the engine to prevent this from happening.

Oil temperature sensor function
In the shell of the temperature sensor, there is a measuring resistance made of semiconductor material made of negative temperature coefficient (NTC). The measured resistance has high resistance at low temperature and decreases as the temperature rises.

· Poor contact with connectors
· Internal short circuit
· Damaged measurement element
